About Andrew

Andrew qualified as a solicitor in Hitchin in 1986 and has recently joined Machins in the Commercial Property team.  Andrew has over 37 years of experience in commercial property matters.

Andrew deals with all aspects of commercial property work but, these days, primarily acts for small and medium sized developers and house builders. Andrew has built a loyal client base over 37 years of local practice and works closely with all local commercial property agents, surveyors and lenders assisting in both large and small property transactions.

Andrew specialises in strategic land acquisitions and estate set ups to include dealing with statutory requirements of s.106, s.38, s.278 and s.104 Agreements for Developers. In addition, Andrew regularly advises on Option Agreements, Promotion Agreements, Overage Agreements and Conditional Contracts usually where the purchase is linked to the grant of a satisfactory planning consent.

Andrew also has a number of clients with property portfolios and regularly advises and guides on issues including leasehold Licences to Assign, Licences for Alterations, Rent Deposit Bonds and Guarantees, Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 Lease renewals and portfolio and property refinancing.

Over the years Andrew has become a trusted legal adviser to his longstanding clients and is regularly asked to attend company board meetings to advise and guide on legal issues.  Andrew is known and trusted in the commercial property community for his swift and proactive advice and “can do” approach.
