A diverse and enriching training experience
We offer three training contracts each year, with up to four six-month seats across different areas of law. This approach allows trainees to explore various fields and find the area that best suits their interests and strengths. By taking advantage of the trainee solicitor opportunities at Machins Solicitors, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a range of legal disciplines, preparing you for a successful future in law.

- Residential Conveyancing
You’ll work closely with experienced partners, who will act as your training supervisors, and be paired with a mentor to provide ongoing guidance, support, and feedback throughout your journey.
Beyond the office: Get involved in the Machins community
At Machins, being part of the team extends beyond client work. We encourage trainees to get involved in our vibrant community, with plenty of opportunities to contribute to charitable, social, and wellbeing initiatives.
- Volunteering and charity work: Take part in events like volunteering at Community Interest Luton’s Curry Kitchen where you’ll help make a difference in the local community.
- Social events: Join us for our annual summer and Christmas parties, where staff across both offices come together to relax and celebrate.
- Committee involvement: Trainees are encouraged to join one of our three committees:
- Mental health Committee: Participate in initiatives like the knitting club, designed to support mental wellbeing.
- Social Committee: Help organise firm-wide events that bring everyone together.

Applications for training contracts starting in July 2027 close on 1st March 2026.
