About this event

Day-to-day management of your business is delegated to your directors and senior management. Being a director/ senior manager brings with it a high degree of responsibility and, increasingly, the risk of personal liability.

In many situations, there will be risks whichever way a decision is made, and these will need to be compared. Possible negative outcomes also need to be balanced against possible positive outcomes. Though risk management tends to focus more on the former, there are situations in which possible positive outcomes play a significant role in decision-making. It is not the job of a risk manager to make these decisions, only to ensure that those doing so are as well-equipped as possible to understand the balance of risk.

In this free webinar, Philip Bain from the Machins Solicitors Employment Team will focus on some of the commercial risks which businesses and their senior managers face in the workplace.

Topics will include:-

  • Directors specific duties and responsibilities
  • Relationship breakdown; protecting against grievances, bullying and harassment and discrimination claims
  • “Must haves” in the employment contract
  • Protected conversations and when to offer a settlement.

The presentation will run from 1pm -1.45pm followed by an online Q&A session for anyone wishing to ask questions.
