Kathryn Ainsworth appointed Managing Partner of Machins Solicitors
Following the sudden and tragic death of Managing Partner, Mark Pelopida, Machins Solicitors has appointed Kathryn Ainsworth to take over the role of Managing Partner going forward.
Mark died unexpectedly after a short illness on Friday 2nd December 2022. At the time of his death he was head of the Company Commercial team as well as having being elected Managing Partner in 2013.
Kathryn Ainsworth is Head of the Private Family Law Department and has been a senior partner in Machins for 10 years.
She says, “Everyone at Machins has been deeply saddened by Mark’s death. He was an outstanding leader and had built an exceptional practice during his 25 years at Machins. I am humbled and honoured to take the role of Managing Partner forward. My priority will be to ensure Mark’s legacy is not forgotten by continuing to invest in our people, deliver expert legal services to our clients and grow and expand our business further.’
Kathryn joined Machins 2012 following the merger of her former practice, Sumner and Tabor. She leads the family law team and has been repeatedly recognised as a ‘Leading Individual’ in the Legal 500. She prides herself on her approachable and personable leadership as well as being a highly respected lawyer by her clients and peers within the profession.
