About Richard

Richard qualified as a solicitor in 1989.  He joined Machins in January 2024  as a senior solicitor in the Company Commercial team following a career working in private practice including 15 years working for large corporate practices in Birmingham before relocating to Bedfordshire. Over the course of his career Richard has  been the head of company and commercial departments at firms in Birmingham and Telford.

His areas of expertise extend to mergers and acquisitions, business sales, management buy outs, shareholder agreements and shareholder disputes, re-organisations, joint ventures, share option and employee incentive schemes, bank finance, partnership agreements and a wide range of business to business agreements across a variety of sectors.

He regularly advises on multi-million pound corporate transactions.

Richard uses his wide ranging experience to take a pragmatic and commercial approach to all matters which he is involved in and to proactively deliver the right solutions for his client. He particular enjoys working with owner managed businesses and getting to really understand their businesses and adding value.
