A remortgage is when you are looking to change your mortgage lender or seeking a different product from your existing mortgage lender by taking out a new mortgage on the property.
As soon as we receive your new mortgage offer we would need to approve the title and may be required by the lender to carry out searches on their behalf. These searches may be required even if you have lived at the property for some time.
We will check your mortgage offer to ensure that the mortgage conditions are complied with. This may involve checking on your buildings insurance policy and if the property is leasehold, checking the terms of the lease.
Following completion we will pay off any existing mortgage and then register the new mortgage at the land registry. If your property is leasehold, we will advise the landlord of the new lender.
