Placement Order Proceedings
Placement Orders are required for a Local Authority to place a child with prospective adoptive parents whether the parents do or do not agree to their child being adopted. It is the first step towards a child being adopted.
If the Local Authority have applied to the court for a Care Order and the plan for the child is adoption, the application for a placement order will usually be made before the Care Order is made and both applications will be dealt with by the Court at the same time.
Revocation of Placement Orders
It may be that circumstances have changed and adoption is no longer a likely or desirable outcome for a child, we can advise and represent either the child or the parent in this case. If that is the case an application can be made to revoke a Placement Order.
