Forced Marriage Protection Orders

The Family Court is able to make Forced Marriage Protection Orders to protect someone from being forced into marriage. An Order can also be made to protect someone who has already been forced into marriage, to help remove them from the situation.

An application for a Forced Marriage Protection Order is often made by Social Services or by the police. If you feel you are at risk of harm you need to contact the police.

How can we help you?

We are experienced in dealing with this area of law. We are able to advise, assist and represent you in respect of either making an Application for a Forced Marriage Protection Order or defending one.

If you think you may be forced into a marriage, or have been forced into a marriage, or are involved in court proceedings, or where an application has been made, or are worried about a close friend or family member, we are able to advise, assist and represent you in the proceedings.
