The UK government understands that some parents may for a variety of reasons want to be with their children in the UK while they are in school and as such the Parent of a Child Student Immigration category was created.
This category allows a parent remain with a child in the UK until their child’s visa comes to an end or until the child turns 12, whichever is sooner.
Some of the conditions of this visa are that the other parent must continue to reside abroad and the parent in the UK must not work or study while here.
As with most visa applications, the parent intending to stay in the UK must be able to demonstrate that he or she is able to maintain and accommodate themselves and their child as required by the Immigration Rules.
We are able to provide advice and representation if you require assistance with this type of visa application.
