Profile

After graduating with a first class degree in law, Clare specialised in banking litigation with London firms Wilde Sapte and Dibb Lupton Alsop, acting for a number of UK clearing and international banks. In 1998, she went to work for one of her clients, the London branch of a Canadian bank and found herself on the “other side of the fence” by instructing solicitors and therefore knows what it is like to be in this position.

After taking a career break to have a family, Clare joined the Civil Litigation team at Machins in 2008 as an Assistant Solicitor.

There was a time BC (before children) when Clare vaguely recalls she did have hobbies. Nowadays, in common with many parents, spare time seems to involve maths homework, chauffeuring large numbers of small children around and standing on muddy touchlines in the rain, cheering on her child’s team.
