Family mediation is a process enabling couples at any stage of separation or divorce to reach a mutually acceptable settlement with the help of an impartial third person, the mediator.
The settlement can include arrangements for property, finances and any children. The mediator does not make decisions for a couple. The mediator manages the process, but not its outcome, and has no power to impose solutions. Mediation is not reconciliation or counselling.
We do not offer a mediation service but we encourage clients to attend mediation if it is considered suitable for them. We offer advice support and assistance during mediation. At the conclusion of the mediation process if an agreement is reached this is binding on the parties.
We can assist you to ensure that legal agreement or court order is put in place. We will always be happy to put clients in touch with suitable mediation services.
